Mrs Hinch fans hail £1 tip for cleaning black mould off plastic high chairs

A group of savvy Mrs Hinch fans have come to the rescue, with their top tip for cleaning nasty mould off plastic high chairs, and it should only set you back a relatively thrifty £1

A grandmother who decided to root out an old plastic high chair ahead of her young grandson's visit was dismayed to find spots of black mould on it, despite having given it a thorough scrub.

The grandma, whose name is Lynne, says she dug the chair out of the loft before little Rupert's visit, and made sure to air it out and give it a good clean with soap and water.

Unfortunately, although Lynne says it's come out "lovely", she has been left frustrated by a few lingering black spots of what appears to be mould on the straps of the chair.

Not wanting her baby grandson sat out in a mouldy chair, or indeed near any toxic chemicals, houseproud Lynne took to a Mrs Hinch cleaning tips Facebook group to ask members for advice.

Lynne wrote: "I retrieved the old plastic high chair from my loft, in readiness for my youngest grandson visiting soon, now he can sit up.

"I've taken it outside in the sunshine and cleaned it all down with hot soapy water and popped the plastic cover in the washing machine.

"It's come up lovely but there are still black spots, of what looks like mould on the straps. What can I use to get this off? I don't want Rupert sitting in what looks like a dirty highchair or any dangerous chemical near him either."

Fellow Mrs Hinch fans came forward to offer their words of wisdom, and one tip in particular proved particularly popular: Astonish Mould & Mildew Spray.
